Ironwood Technology Group LLC is a privately held holding company. We acquire and build narrowly-focused technology products and hold the entities that operate them.
Our first portfolio company is BitClock, a Bitcoin order-book ratio monitoring instrument. Additional products may follow, each under its own name and its own team.
Ironwood is one of the densest woods in the world — dense enough that a piece of it will sink rather than float. It is slow-growing and unremarkable to look at; it was never chosen for beauty. For as long as people have worked it, ironwood has been chosen for one reason: it outlasts whatever it's built into.
That's the property we named the company for. Not speed, not scale — durability. A holding company, in the plain sense of the word, is meant to hold something for a long time. We wanted a name that meant that before it meant anything else.
We back products built to do one thing precisely, not platforms built to do everything adequately.
We are a holding company in the literal sense. We are not building to flip; we intend to hold.
Portfolio companies carry their own name and their own voice. Ironwood works in the background.
